The Sons head is doing too much - he looks back then forward and the back and forward again (180 arc 4 times). You could get more value in terms of acting or animation for less. Have the Son start looking forward, move his head slight towards the right (his right) with his eyes leading (lazily looking)...then have him move further to the right (with a slight jolt) as he realises / notices the king...then have him move left (looking camera left) with his head in his hands.
For me, it gets difficult to read the boy's terror when the Erl-King appears, because he just moves his head to the front again - when it feels as if there should be more rigidity in his horror - a sense of a proper fright - a jolt - some 'harder' in terms of his head snapping back; i think it's partly because all his neck is allowing him to do is turn his head from side to side, as opposed to 'up and down'... Maybe you need to think about this reaction in terms of a 'jump scare?' So something a little more violent in terms of the boy's initial reaction?

Thank you, I will try fixing it accordingly!
